• Since we all went our separate ways 50 years ago, my path took me into the world of accountancy where I remain today.
  • I studied at WITS, served articles simultaneously, and became a partner at Kessel Feinstein (now Grant Thornton),
Johannesburg, from which firm I retired almost 3 years ago as a senior partner and chairman of the partnership board.
I still, however, remain very involved with a number high worth families and businesses in various capacities including advisor to and director of
the largest beef producer in SA as well as being a non-executive director of one of SA's largest listed Real Estate Investment Trusts.
  • I am married to Shirley, a senior counsel (Silk) of the High Court. We were blessed with 2 children, both of whom matriculated at King David, Linksfield.
  • Our late son, of blessed memory, read for and obtained 6 degrees, some cum laude, at both Wits and The London School of Economics.
Together with another family, we participated in the 613th Mitzvah by having a Sefer Torah written, our half share of the Torah having been written in his honour.
It was one of the highlights of our lives meeting with the Sofer in Bnei Brak as well shopping for adornments for the Torah which is kept and used at our Shul.
  • Our daughter Martine, is married to Alan Joffe. They have 3 gorgeous girls which include a set of twins.
The girls are the light of our lives. They too are pupils at King David School.
Martine is a doctor and practices in Sandton. She is currently studying towards a higher diploma in diabetes.
  • We have been members of the Sandton Shul for the last 40 years, 30 years plus of which I have been a member of the choir.
I also held the finance portfolio and was a member of the Executive for 9 years.
  • Our lives revolve around our immediate and extended family, some of whom are scattered around the world
which gives us an excuse to indulge in our favourite pastime which is travel.
